The UK Modern Slavery Act – Are your directors ready?
Amy Sinclair, Chair of ALHR’s Business and Human Rights Subcommittee, was recently invited to speak at a Governance Institute panel event hosted by Clyde & Co.
The purpose of the event, The UK Modern Slavery Act – Are your directors ready?, was to explore the implications of the UK’s 2015 Modern Slavery Act for Australian businesses and provide context to this recent regulatory development.
Amy gave an overview of key international corporate human rights standards, examined the significance of respecting human rights in business and outlined the role of the Australian Government in promoting these frameworks.
