Lawyers target human rights abuse in supply chains

Date: Fri 23rd October 2015

Australian Lawyers for Human Rights (ALHR) has called on businesses to do more to address exploitative labour practices in supply chains.  To raise awareness, ALHR NSW will host a panel discussion, ‘Risky Business – A Consideration of Human Rights Risk in the Supply Chain’, in Sydney next week.  An informative panel discussion will seek to shed light on one of the most topical human rights issues facing the corporate sector in Australia. Our esteemed panellists will consider the human rights framework applicable to supply chains, slavery and forced labour, what is required of business, consumer pressure in response to human rights risks and the business perspective on ethical sourcing.
