The fight for marriage equality may seem to have leapt into the public consciousness only recently, but for many, the journey began long ago. The first legally married same-sex couple in the United States, Richard and Tony were married in Colorado in 1975, thanks to a courageous county clerk. However, attempts to get Tony, an Australian citizen, a green car…d, were met by the INS with the statement, “You have failed to establish that a bona fide marital relationship can exist between two faggots.” Limited Partnership presents the love story of these two men, against the backdrop of the first shots fired in the battle for the basic right to marry.
