Paul Lucas was elected to State Parliament for the seat of Lytton, at a by-election in 1996. Paul was appointed as Deputy Premier of Queensland on the 26 March 2009 and Attorney-General, Minister for Local Government and Special Minister of State from 21 February 2011. He was formerly Minister for Health, Minister for Transport and Main Roads and the Minister for Infrastructure & Planning.
Prior to entering parliament, Paul was a solicitor in private practice. He holds the degrees of Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Laws, and Master of Business Administration from the University of Queensland. Paul is a very active member of his local community, belonging to many community organisations, including the Wynnum Manly Leagues Club, and is a patron of organisations such as Bay FM, Wynnum Softball Association, Eastern districts Orchid Society Inc, Aid and Recreational Association for the Disabled and Wynnum Table Tennis. Paul was a founding member of the Bayside Community Legal Service.
